The GENI Project Office is ramping up its software efforts,
and looking to hire a software developer to perform software
integration, development, debugging, and shakedown, and to
help define and document software architecture and interfaces.

Good candidates will have a strong background in networking
research and/or distributed systems research, be fluent in
two or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java,
Python, etc., and have demonstrated ability to both create new
software and understand, debug, and improve existing code.
Hands-on experience with virtual machine technologies, plus
network-research tools and testbeds such as Emulab, PlanetLab,
peer-to-peer networks, cluster computing, grid computing, etc.,
is highly desirable.

We seek a generalist who can rapidly learn new areas and is
happy to work in emerging research fields. We are looking for
a friendly, reliable, diplomatic, team player who enjoys working
closely with professors and graduate students. The position will
require a fair amount of travel to live and work with our colleagues
at university campuses.

This fulltime position is at BBN's office in Cambridge, Mass., and is
available now. US citizenship is not required. An advanced degree
in computer science is preferable but not required.

If interested, please contact Chip Elliott and Henry Yeh
(celliott at bbn.com, hyeh at bbn.com) at the GPO.
